Accenture’s former UK boss has been appointed an AI champion by chancellor Rachel Reeves, as the government seeks to foster growth across the professional services sector.

Shaheen Sayed, chief commercial officer of reinvention services at Accenture, has been tasked with improving AI adoption in professional business services — one of the UK government’s eight growth sectors. It is understood that the position is not a paid role.
