Mid-market investment bank Alantra has poached a senior banker from Rothschild as a partner in its New York office.

The Spain-headquartered bank, which has been expanding its UK operation as it looks to go toe-to-toe with larger rivals, has named Michael Poerschke as a partner within its US hub, focused on consumer goods, retail, agriculture and specialty ingredients sectors.
