The bosses of Ashurst and Perkins Coie have pledged to introduce a “best of class” pay system for partners, but refused to rule out redundancies as AI upends the legal industry.

City law firm Ashurst and its US merger partner Perkins Coie said they are rethinking how to reward partners once their transatlantic tie-up completes next year.
