BancTrust, a City investment bank specialising in emerging markets, has stripped out key management and compliance roles as part of an ongoing cost-cutting drive, Financial News has learned.

Among those impacted by the cuts is chief strategy officer and board director Angel Gavieiro Besteiro, according to registry filings and people familiar with the matter.
