BATS Europe plans new preferred clearing service

BATS Europe plans to launch a preferred interoperable clearing program that will, subject the regulatory approval, offer trading participants the choice of a preferred clearer from three interoperating clearing counterparties from late July. The new service is designed to allow participants to elect a preferred CCP for clearing of all trades in a specific market segment, with the CCPs being one of LCH.Clearnet, x-clear or EuroCCP. If participants on both sides of a trade have selected a preferred CCP, then the executed trade will be cleared by that designated entity.
