A surge in bonuses last year saw the pay gap between men and women at Wall Street investment banks in the City widen.

The median bonus gap between men and women at investment banks including Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan and Morgan Stanley increased last year as the firms increased payouts for some dealmakers after a bumper year.
