Blackstone boss Stephen Schwarzman has warned the private equity industry that it should not put its "head in the sand" about the coming impact of artificial intelligence.

At a summit in Paris this week, the investment veteran told delegates: "You don't want to be a second mover in AI. If someone has already improved their company and you haven't, the improved company will be a formidable competitor, much more than it is today."
