BlackRock’s push to promote more City executives to its most powerful leadership team sends a clear signal that the US asset management giant is building a broader skill set and sphere of influence in its highest ranks.

The New York-headquartered firm told staff in a 16 September memo that it was shaking up its global executive committee, composed of some of the asset manager’s most senior talent.
