Campaigners call for independent inquiry into Woodford saga: ‘It could happen again’

Multimillion-pound fines issued to Neil Woodford and his investment firm last month have sparked calls for an independent inquiry into the UK regulator’s handling of the crisis.

The former star fund manager and Woodford Investment Management were fined a combined total of almost £46m for failures relating to the collapse of the now defunct £3.6bn Woodford Equity Income fund in 2019.
