CBOE completes $3.4bn Bats takeover

CBOE Holdings, the owner of the Chicago Board Options Exchange, has completed its $3.4 billion takeover of cash equities specialist Bats Global Markets.

The deal brings under one roof several US derivatives and equities exchanges, a European equities exchange and trade reporting facility, and spot FX venue Hotspot.
