Coutts assets rise as markets boost wealth managers

NatWest’s bank for the rich has grown assets above £50bn as wealth firms benefit from booming investment performance

Coutts, NatWest’s wealth manager for the super-rich, grew assets 8% in the latest quarter as the sector continues to be buoyed by rising markets.

Assets at NatWest’s private banking and wealth management business, which includes Coutts, reached £56bn at the end of the third quarter, up 8% over the three months and 20% compared with the same period last year.
