FCA asks UK court to lift suspension on bond tape contract

Regulator’s written defence to Ediphy’s lawsuit is due by the end of this week

The Financial Conduct Authority has filed a legal application to lift a suspension on a key UK bond market data contract, fearing a delay could hit Britain’s competitiveness.

The FCA is asking the High Court to let it sign a contract with British fintech Etrading Software to deliver the UK’s first consolidated tape for bonds — a centralised real-time trading data feed.
