FCA consolidator review due within weeks as private equity deals put to the test

The Financial Conduct Authority is set to reveal the results of its probe into M&A deals in the UK wealth sector next month, people familiar with the matter have told Financial News.

The market is eagerly awaiting the verdict of the watchdog’s landmark review. Some bankers are predicting that an end to the uncertainty could spur more deals, while wealth bosses have said the regulator could tread lightly on the sector given recent improvements.
