Conflicts of interest and fair treatment of customers in the spotlight as regulator asks for a raft of information from firms

The Financial Conduct Authority has begun a major review into private markets firms as the sector comes under increased scrutiny.

The watchdog has launched a wide-ranging look at conflicts of interest and fair treatment of customers by asking select firms to answer questions about their business by 2 January, according to people familiar with matter.
