FCA prepares ‘multi-year’ review of trading firm capital rules

City regulator explores custom rules to boost market liquidity

The Financial Conduct Authority is set to launch a “multi-year” review into capital requirements for specialist trading firms in a bid to boost UK markets.

The FCA said its review would kick off during its current financial year, which started on 1 April. It will explore custom rules for trading firms, including market makers, that do not hold retail deposits.
