FCA sues billionaire Trump backer’s crypto exchange over financial promotions

City regulator takes aim at firm owned by Chinese crypto mogul Justin Sun

The Financial Conduct Authority has launched a lawsuit against a cryptocurrency exchange owned by one of Donald Trump’s top crypto backers, alleging it breached UK financial promotion rules.

The FCA filed a civil suit against HTX, a China-founded firm formerly known as Huobi, in the UK’s High Court on 21 October, according to legal filings.
