FCA warns some asset managers are unprepared for move to T+1

City regulator may start requesting transition plans from firms

The Financial Conduct Authority has warned some smaller asset managers may struggle to comply with new rules that will shorten securities trade settlement in the UK.

Europe is scheduled to move to next-day settlement of securities, known as T+1, on 11 October 2027 in a move designed to reduce risk and generate more liquidity.
