Douglas Hodge, the former chief executive of bond giant Pimco, was sentenced Friday to nine months in prison for his role in the sprawling college-admissions cheating scandal that has ensnared more than 50 parents, coaches and others.

Hodge was also ordered to pay a $750,000 fine. In handing down the harshest sentence to date, a federal judge cited Hodge’s “repeated and enduring criminal conduct.”
