Hargreaves Lansdown, the UK’s largest investment platform, has hired Vanguard’s Doug Abbott as its chief product officer — 18 months after he joined the US asset manager.

The newly created role will see Abbott responsible for Hargreaves Lansdown’s £11bn fund range as well as ETFs and the retirement solutions available to its more than 2 million clients. He will lead commercial partnerships and negotiations with third parties when he takes up the new role in March.
