Liquidnet has hired a sales director to build its business helping European asset managers looking for liquidity in US equities.

The firm, which helps asset managers to trade large blocks of shares, said in a statement today that Simon Gilbert will be responsible for helping its European members find the other side to their US equities trades. He will be based in London.
