The London Metal Exchange has taken steps in recent years to address the male-dominated culture of commodity trading. But as the bourse pushes for more women in its senior ranks, it faces the question of when it could name the first female chief executive in its 148-year history.
“We have made some very important strides in that,” chief executive Matthew Chamberlain told Financial News in an interview. He noted the appointment of Gay Huey Evans as the LME’s first female chair in 2019 and the fact that the bourse now has a majority female executive committee.
