The London Stock Exchange Group has reduced its number of engineers by around 3,000 since the start of last year, as the bourse owner looks to cut down on external contractors and manage costs.

In January 2024, LSEG had around 17,000 engineers, with some 40% being internal staff. Now, it has roughly 14,000 engineers, of which 58% are internal employees, according to a presentation on the group’s strategy delivered on 10 November.
