Major banks are poised to usher in a wave of AI-powered digital workers. They could have names, employee ID numbers and a say in virtual meetings, according to the head of Microsoft’s financial sector strategy.

Bill Borden, corporate vice-president for worldwide financial services at the US tech giant, told Financial News that recent trends in agentic AI could have banks “completely rethinking” their processes.
