Morgan Stanley has promoted 173 new managing directors, a 12% increase on the prior year as large investment banks have looked to retain employees.

The Wall Street bank has anointed its new class of managing directors, according to a person familiar with the matter. The 173 people to make the cut is larger than the 155 promotions in 2024, but lags the previous two years.
