Private equity giants are bombarding UK law firms. The lure of their war chests could soon reshape the sector entirely.

David Morley, former senior partner of Allen & Overy, which merged with US firm Shearman & Sterling to become A&O Shearman last year, said that investors are now “carpet bombing the sector with unsolicited approaches”.
