SEC chair Gensler says he’ll resign on inauguration day

The chair of the US Securities and Exchange Commission Gary Gensler announced that he will resign — but not until the day of Donald Trump’s inauguration as president.

In a 21 November afternoon release, Gensler said he will step down at noon on 20 January, 2025.
