Sunak urges Bank of England to take creative approach post-Brexit

Chancellor Rishi Sunak has asked the Bank of England to think “creatively” in ensuring the UK’s financial services industry remains competitive post-Brexit and coronavirus.

Sunak said that now the Brexit transition period has ended, policy decisions can be guided by “what is right for the UK”, in a 3 March letter to Bank governor Andrew Bailey setting out the remit for the Bank’s financial policy committee.
