UK law firm Taylor Wessing is in merger talks with Chicago-headquartered Winston & Strawn, a potential deal that would mark the latest transatlantic tie-up in the legal sector.

The combined firm would have revenue of around $1.6bn and headcount of 1,300 lawyers, placing it in the top 40 law firms globally by revenue.
