UBS shook up the senior ranks of its capital markets business as the Swiss bank looks to gain market share. Gareth McCartney, who co-headed UBS’s equity capital market business, was promoted to a new role as global head of capital markets origination. His move means that its Emea ECM head, Manuel Esteve, was promoted to co-head of equity underwriting globally.
