UBS has asked the magic circle law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer to help investigate the Swiss bank's handling of a rape allegation.

The move comes after a woman, who is in her early 20s, wrote to the head of the company's investment bank, Andrea Orcel, outlining what she said were a series of failures in how UBS dealt with her allegations of sexual misconduct. She has since left the company.
