UBS’s Marco Valla eyes US growth, senior hires and big M&A deals in top six push

The Swiss bank has increased its ambition for its dealmaking business, but there is still some way to go

UBS, armed with extra firepower from its acquisition of Credit Suisse, hopes to challenge its rivals in investment banking, hire more senior dealmakers and move up the fee league tables.

Marco Valla, co-president of the investment bank, told Financial News UBS wants a 3% market share and to be in sixth place for fees globally.
