‘Your capital is at risk’: FCA takes aim at pointless investor warnings

Firms don’t have to include wording around potential losses in their marketing, City watchdog confirms

The vast majority of UK investments come with a warning: “Your capital is at risk”.

But according to the City’s markets watchdog, such statements are often pointless, aren’t mandated under its current rules, and can even confuse investors.
